TSC Subsea has secured a multi-year contract with a major offshore operator for the inspection of insulated flexible pipes in Brazil’s pre-salt region, further strengthening its position in robotic subsea inspection and integrity assessment services.

The contract, which runs from 2026 through 2029, will see the company provide continuous subsea inspection services focused on assessing the integrity of critical flexible pipe infrastructure operating in challenging offshore environments.

According to the company, the award extends an existing inspection programme and reflects continued confidence in TSC Subsea’s inspection technologies, offshore operational capabilities and technical expertise.

As part of the contract, TSC Subsea will deploy its ARTEMIS robotic inspection system using proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART) to evaluate flexible pipe integrity and detect unwanted media within the annulus region.

Flexible pipes are widely used in offshore production systems but remain challenging to inspect due to their complex multi-layered construction. Damage to the outer sheath can allow seawater ingress into the annulus, creating corrosive conditions that accelerate degradation of internal layers and increase operational risk.

The company stated that its ART technology is designed to penetrate highly attenuative materials, including outer sheaths, insulation layers and anti-wear tapes, enabling inspection across varying pipe thicknesses and configurations. TSC Subsea has also developed annulus medium detection methods for identifying gas and liquid presence across multiple flexible pipe designs.

Alongside Acoustic Resonance Technology-based inspections, the contract scope includes the deployment of client-patented inspection methods such as subsea phased array ultrasonics and pressure monitoring techniques to support a broader integrity evaluation programme.

Fabio Puga commented:

“We are pleased to continue supporting our client through this contract. It reflects the trust placed in our technology and our people to deliver high-quality services offshore Brazil. I’m especially proud of our team, whose consistent performance and commitment have been key to building and maintaining this relationship, while continuing to advance our capabilities.”

The contract adds to TSC Subsea’s growing portfolio of long-term offshore inspection projects and further reinforces the company’s focus on diverless robotic inspection solutions for subsea infrastructure integrity management.
