DÜRR NDT has introduced newly developed mounting and protective covers for its D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT bendable digital X-ray detectors. Designed for demanding industrial inspection environments, the updated covers provide improved detector protection and more versatile mounting options while retaining the flexibility and image quality of the existing detector models.
The new design offers multiple ways to secure the detectors to inspection objects. Depending on the application, inspectors can use magnets, tension straps or rubber fasteners to position the detectors. These mounting options are intended to simplify setup and provide reliable attachment during inspections, including work in hard-to-reach locations.
Flexible Mounting and Improved Durability
The protective covers are designed to preserve the detectors' lightweight construction, portability and bending capability. This allows the D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT to conform to curved surfaces while maintaining their digital radiographic imaging performance.
Durability was another key consideration in the development. The covers are manufactured from Cordura® fabric, which provides resistance to mechanical stress, abrasion, dirt and impacts associated with routine field operations. By protecting the detector surface during use, the covers are intended to reduce wear and help extend service life.
Detector Specifications and Imaging Software
Both detector models feature a 99 µm pixel pitch and a maximum basic spatial resolution (SRb) of 100 µm, supporting demanding weld inspections on pipes and other curved objects.
The models differ in their active imaging areas:
- D-DR 1025B NDT: 97 × 249 mm
- D-DR 1043B NDT: 97 × 427 mm
The detectors operate with DÜRR NDT's D-Tect X X-ray inspection software. The software provides image analysis tools designed to support fast and precise evaluation of digital radiographic images.
The updated mounting and protective solution expands the practical usability of DÜRR NDT's bendable detector range in industrial environments. By combining flexible positioning, durable protection and established imaging capabilities, the company aims to support reliable digital radiography inspections in demanding field conditions.
