At the prestigious MRO APAC tradeshow in Singapore, aerospace inspection leader Testia signed a groundbreaking Master Service Agreement with Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM). The agreement designates CTRM subsidiary, CTRM Testing Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. ("CTRM TL"), as Testia’s first calibration hub in the Asia-Pacific region, marking a significant stride for both organizations.

This partnership expands beyond calibration, encompassing a spectrum of services. In addition to the calibration facility, CTRM TL will offer Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training and host Testia’s NDT Cadet Academy program, which fosters NDT-certified professionals through a blend of theoretical and hands-on training. Moreover, CTRM will serve as a key distributor of Testia's acclaimed inspection products throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The signing ceremony, held during the Aviation Week MRO Asia Pacific Singapore 2023 event, was a momentous occasion. Testia's CEO, David Rottembourg, and CTRM's CEO, Shamsuddin Mohamed Yusof, came together to solidify this promising collaboration. The two organizations are now set to finalize the finer points of the agreement, including technical specifics, pricing details, and marketing strategies.

This alliance opens up promising prospects for CTRM and the aerospace industry across the Asia-Pacific region. Shamsuddin expressed his appreciation for Testia's trust and recognition of CTRM's capabilities, stating, "This venture will certainly propel CTRM to the next level by providing calibration services and NDT training not only to local but also international customers in the APAC region."

Testia's customers in the Asia-Pacific region are set to benefit significantly from this development. They can look forward to expedited calibration turnaround times and reduced transportation costs as their testing equipment will be serviced by CTRM's expert team located in Melaka, Malaysia. This is a welcome departure from the past, where equipment had to be sent to Testia's calibration lab in Europe.

The partnership also has the full backing of the National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO Malaysia), an entity dedicated to boosting Malaysia's aerospace industry. Prof. Ts. Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah, the CEO of NAICO Malaysia, endorsed the collaboration, stating, "This partnership strongly resonates with the Malaysia Aerospace Blueprint 2030, positioning Malaysia to lead Southeast Asia's aerospace industry by 2030."

He added, "Additionally, this partnership is in harmony with the aspirations of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, leading to the strengthening of Malaysia's testing and training capabilities, contributing to the resilience of the domestic aerospace supply chain. NAICO Malaysia views this collaboration as a cornerstone in propelling the Malaysian aerospace industry to global prominence, underlining its commitment to advancing the sector's capabilities and achieving its ambitious 2030 objectives."

Testia, with over three decades of expertise in aerostructure inspections and non-destructive testing, has found an invaluable partner in CTRM TL. CTRM TL holds Airbus approval as a captive laboratory and boasts ISO 17025 accreditation and NADCAP AC7122 qualification.

This new chapter promises not only enhanced calibration services but also a major boost in NDT training, underlining both companies' commitment to advancing the aerospace industry's global standing. It's a partnership that aligns perfectly with the vision and objectives of the Malaysia Aerospace Blueprint 2030 and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.
