PRAGMA and Mecademic are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of compact robotic automation and NDE 4.0 technologies across the global nondestructive evaluation industry.
The collaboration, officially introduced during ECNDT 2026 in Verona, will combine PRAGMA’s advanced NDE 4.0 ecosystem with Mecademic’s ultra-compact industrial robots, including the renowned Meca500 robotic platform.
Under this partnership, PRAGMA will begin offering integrated robotic inspection solutions and standardized deployment kits based on Mecademic robots, fully compatible with the company’s growing Pragma3D ecosystem. These new robotic platforms will complement the broad range of industrial robots already supported by PRAGMA software solutions, further expanding the flexibility and scalability of automated NDE deployments.
The partnership opens exciting new opportunities for miniature robotic integration in industrial inspection environments where space constraints, precision, portability, and ease of deployment are critical. It also creates a highly attractive platform for research centers, universities, technical institutes, and innovation laboratories seeking accessible and modern tools to explore automation in the context of NDE 4.0.
The compact footprint and high precision of Mecademic robots make them particularly well suited for operation alongside PRAGMA’s award-winning PragmaFlex instrument platform, recipient of the prestigious NDTMA Innovation Award 2025–2026. Together, it proposes the most compact and flexible automated solution for NDT.
“This partnership represents an important step toward democratizing advanced robotic NDE solutions,” said François Mainguy, founder and president of PRAGMA. “By combining the flexibility of the Pragma3D ecosystem with Mecademic’s exceptionally compact and precise robots, we are enabling a new generation of portable, intelligent, and highly integrated inspection solutions.”
For Mecademic, the collaboration strengthens the company’s position within the growing industrial inspection and digital automation sectors by adding a recognized NDE 4.0 technology leader to its ecosystem of advanced automation partners.
“We are excited to collaborate with PRAGMA and contribute to the evolution of smart inspection technologies,” said Louis Lapierre, director of strategic partnerships from Mecademic. “The integration of our robotic platforms within the PRAGMA ecosystem demonstrates how compact robotics can unlock new possibilities in advanced industrial applications.”
The two companies expect the partnership to accelerate the deployment of compact robotic NDE systems across multiple sectors, including aerospace, energy, advanced manufacturing, research laboratories, and industrial training environments.
As the NDE industry continues its transition toward digital workflows, robotic automation, and digital twin technologies, the partnership between PRAGMA and Mecademic reflects a shared vision of a more connected, intelligent, and accessible future for industrial inspection.
