The two companies have signed an equity purchase agreement that will make Avonix a subsidiary of Nikon Americas Inc., subject to regulatory clearance and other customary closing conditions. The companies have been working together since 2015 to deliver highly configurable X-ray and CT systems for nondestructive inspection of products. Combining Nikon’s proprietary rotating target X-ray sources and proven software with Avonix’s expertise in design, controls, and product handling, they create customized solutions that can contribute to customers’ efficiency and profitability.
