In a strategic development aimed at expanding its international footprint, SriLankan Engineering has been awarded the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), along with Foreign Repair Station approval.
This milestone enables the company’s MRO division to deliver certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Thai-registered Airbus A319, A320, A321, A350 and Boeing B777, B787 aircraft. All services will be carried out at SriLankan Engineering’s advanced facilities in Sri Lanka.
The newly accredited service offerings include base maintenance, heavy checks, component repair and overhaul, as well as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and line maintenance.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, SriLankan Engineering expressed excitement about collaborating with key industry stakeholders such as Thai Airways International, Thai VietJet Air, Bangkok Airways, AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, Thai SmartLynx, and global leasing firms like AerCap, Avolon, SMBC Aviation Capital, and Air Lease.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to fostering robust partnerships and delivering services that enhance operational reliability, reduce Aircraft on Ground (AOG) time, and optimise cost efficiency for carriers and lessors alike.
This approval further positions SriLankan Engineering as a key MRO player in the Asia-Pacific region.
