Position Summary:
The Ultrasound Applications Expert will serve as a key technical reference for both internal teams and customers, providing expert knowledge of ultrasonic testing (UT) and phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) products and their industrial applications. The role focuses on understanding customer requirements, supporting technical sales activities, delivering customer training, providing post-sales support, and collaborating with engineering, production, research and development, and marketing teams to deliver effective inspection solutions. The position is based in Villebon-sur-Yvette, Paris, and requires extensive hands-on field experience in industrial UT/PAUT inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Support the sales team during product demonstrations, customer visits, and technical discussions by presenting product capabilities and providing technical expertise.
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend standard products or collaborate with the tailored applications team to develop customized solutions.
- Perform technical feasibility testing to validate proposed inspection solutions against customer requirements.
- Deliver customer training through practical sessions and develop technical training materials.
- Provide post-sales technical support, including on-site troubleshooting and customer communication regarding technical issues.
- Develop technical content such as blogs, webinars, and workshops in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Participate in conferences and industry events to promote the company's technical expertise.
- Manage semi-custom product projects by coordinating multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Support production by improving technical documentation and facilitating efficient product transfer to manufacturing.
- Collaborate closely with the Research and Development team by providing field feedback and conducting application testing to support product improvements.
Qualifications:
- College diploma in Science or a related field (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (considered an asset).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including proven hands-on UT inspection experience in industrial environments.
- Demonstrated field experience performing UT/PAUT inspections.
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to train personnel and prepare clear technical reports.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the EMEA and APAC regions, as well as internationally when required.
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience performing real UT/PAUT inspections in industrial settings.
- Availability for frequent international travel based on project requirements.
