Position Summary:-
MISTRAS Group is seeking dedicated Level II Eddy Current (ET) Technicians based locally in the Houston, Texas area who are willing to travel for projects, turnarounds, and call-out assignments as needed.
The Level II Eddy Current Technician is responsible for setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting examinations using appropriate NDT techniques, interpreting and evaluating results, and completing required documentation. The technician works with minimal supervision and may direct trainees and Level I personnel within the certified method.
Responsibilities:-
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment.
- Conduct tests using appropriate NDT techniques.
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of the method in which the technician is certified.
- Direct the work of trainees and Level I personnel when required.
- Apply applicable codes, standards, and contractual documents governing the NDT method used by the employer.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Obtain and analyze information effectively.
- Edit and present numerical data accurately.
- Promote safe work practices and properly use equipment and materials.
- Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
- Adapt to changes, delays, unexpected events, and competing demands.
- Maintain dependable attendance and respond appropriately to management direction.
- Monitor work to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
Qualifications:-
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements for one or more of the following methods: UT, RT, MT, or PT.
- Prior certification as an NDE Level II with at least one year of experience, or prior certification as an NDE Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to qualify for Level II certification under SNT-TC-1A standards in one or more of the following methods: UT, RT, MT, or PT.
- Proof of classroom hours or NDT training.
- Previous Level II certifications and on-the-job training documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work environments.
- Strong commitment to quality, dependability, and safety.
Requirements:-
- Applicants must be able to provide:
- High School Diploma, GED, or degree.
- Proof of classroom hours or NDT training.
- Previous Level II certifications and OJT documentation.
- Local availability in the Houston, Texas area.
- Willingness to travel for projects, turnarounds, and call-out assignments.
- Ability to work outdoors in plant environments and around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Ability to frequently carry up to 50 pounds for Radiography work.
- Ability to wear safety equipment required by the safety department.
- Ability to tolerate changing climate conditions and work at multiple job sites.
- Willingness to travel out of town as needed.
- Industrial Radiographer Certification Card is preferred and required for individuals hired as Radiographers.
- Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course is preferred and required for individuals hired as Radiographers.
