Position Summary:
Acuren is seeking Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Technicians to support major industrial projects during the 2026 Fall Outage Season in the Fort McMurray region. The technician will perform advanced ultrasonic inspections on welds, materials, and components while ensuring compliance with regulatory, client, and company quality standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outage environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) inspections on welds, materials, and components.
- Set up, configure, and calibrate PAUT equipment, including probe angles and scan parameters.
- Interpret A-scan, B-scan, and S-scan data to evaluate structural integrity.
- Perform additional NDT methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Radiographic Testing (RT), as required.
- Identify discontinuities, corrosion, and non-conformances with precision.
- Document and evaluate inspection results, including defect type, size, location, and severity.
- Develop and follow scanning procedures aligned with industry standards.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with regulatory requirements, client specifications, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain and verify PAUT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine software and hardware checks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all site and corporate safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- Valid PAUT Certification (CGSB, CSWIP, or PCN).
- CGSB Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification.
- Additional CGSB certifications are considered an asset.

Requirements:
- Valid PAUT Certification.
- CGSB Level 2 UT certification.
- Ability to work the scheduled outage from September 8, 2026, to October 6, 2026.
- Ability to work a 6/1 rotation with 12-hour day shifts.
- Ability to travel on a fly-in/fly-out basis from major hubs across Canada.
