RT Technician Level II

Position Summary:

The NDT Technician is responsible for conducting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on structures, pipelines, components, and materials using a variety of inspection methods, including radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, leak testing, and visual inspections. The role requires operating and maintaining NDT equipment, identifying material defects, completing accurate inspection documentation, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on structures, pipelines, components, and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Conduct inspections using gamma radiography, X-ray radiography, magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic testing (UTT), leak testing, and visual inspections.
• Select, prepare, load, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment.
• Identify defects in materials using the appropriate inspection techniques.
• Complete inspection documentation and work orders accurately within required timeframes.
• Drive company vehicles while maintaining a safe driving record.
• Provide guidance to assigned assistants and ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Perform general cleaning and minor maintenance of company vehicles.
• Routinely inspect equipment and maintain clean, organized, and functional shop areas.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification in one or more of the following NDT methods:
• Radiographic Testing (RT)
• Ultrasonic Testing (UTT)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
• Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Demonstrated NDT skills, knowledge, or relevant experience.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• Must be insurable through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier.
• TWIC card preferred.
• Intermediate mechanical knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work long shifts of up to 16 hours when required.
• Ability to respond to short-notice call-outs and travel for extended periods.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including:
• Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds frequently.
• Lifting up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Working in extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
• Standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work effectively within a team while providing guidance to assistants.
