Position Summary:
Apave is seeking an NDT Inspector to join its technical team based in Cherbourg on a permanent basis. The role involves carrying out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections to help ensure the safety of people, assets, and the environment. Following a structured onboarding and induction program, the successful candidate will perform inspections using Visual Testing (VT) and, where applicable, other NDT methods such as Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Penetrant Testing (PT). The position also includes maintaining strong client relationships by delivering quality service and recommending suitable technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using Visual Testing (VT) on new and in-service assemblies.
- Conduct inspections using MT, UT, and PT methods where applicable to detect defects and anomalies.
- Ensure inspection activities are carried out with a strong focus on the safety of people, assets, and the environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through professional service delivery.
- Present Apave’s service offerings to customers.
- Recommend appropriate technical solutions based on client requirements.
- Deliver high-quality inspection services in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications:
- Higher education background in maintenance or boilermaking.
- Minimum COFREND Level 2 VT certification.
- EDF authorizations are considered an advantage.
- Strong interest in hands-on technical work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of precision, organization, and attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Valid Category B driver's license.
- Ability to travel as required for the role.
