Position Summary:-
Apave is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT/CND) Technician on a permanent contract (CDI) to join its team in New Caledonia.
Following an integration program, the technician will carry out NDT assignments under the responsibility of the Operational Manager and Technical Referents. The role involves performing inspections for clients across varied industrial facilities, both in workshops and at client sites.
The primary NDT method is ultrasonic testing, with additional methods including magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, and radiography. Inspections may cover in-service or new pressure equipment and welded structures.
Responsibilities:-
- Assess and perform inspection operations within the technician's area of competence.
- Master existing NDT processes and propose improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation, procedures, and client reports.
- Quickly integrate new NDT processes.
- Support knowledge transfer and training of teams.
- Perform NDT assignments at client facilities, workshops, and construction sites.
- Conduct inspections using ultrasonic testing and/or magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, and radiography.
- Contribute to safe operations for Apave's clients and support the development of the Apave Group in the region.
Qualifications:-
- Technical education from Bac to Bac+3 in boiler making, metallurgy, welding, physical measurements, instrumentation, or a related field.
- Experienced NDT inspector/controller with successful experience in non-destructive testing may also be considered.
- Valid Category B driving licence (Permis B).
- Genuine motivation to succeed.
Additional skills considered advantageous include:
- English language skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Category A medical fitness.
- CAMARI and Class 7.
- Level 2 liquid penetrant testing certification.
- Level 2 Gamma and X-ray radiography certification.
- Level 2 magnetic particle testing certification.
- Methodical and diligent approach to work.
- Autonomy and professionalism.
- Strong commitment to achieving results.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
Requirements:-
- Ability to perform NDT inspections under the responsibility of the Operational Manager and Technical Referents.
- Ability to work across industrial facilities, workshops, and client sites.
- Ability to work with pressure equipment, including in-service and new equipment, and welded structures.
- Willingness to learn and integrate new NDT processes.
- Ability to support team training and knowledge transfer.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and construction locations as required.
