Position Summary:
The Entry Level NDT Technician is responsible for learning all aspects of inspection services under the guidance of the Facility Supervisor. The role involves assisting with project execution, preparing materials and documentation, maintaining work areas and equipment, and following established inspection methods and procedures to understand product compliance using various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project execution and daily tasks as assigned.
- Assist in organizing and reporting inspection services provided.
- Prepare, set up, and complete required paperwork in accordance with client and company requirements.
- Set up work area boundaries and surveillance, when required, and prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the work area.
- Follow and enforce company safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Replenish and organize supplies required to perform assigned inspection methods.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas.
- Observe test procedures and product compliance to learn internal and industry specifications.
- Observe and learn procedures required to perform inspection work and gain certification in required NDT methods.
- Observe and learn proper documentation processes for NDT testing.
- Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and a positive customer service attitude with internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow personal safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Entry-level position with minimum or no experience required.
- Experience in the NDT industry is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to read technical documents preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of inspection technology preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Demonstrates honesty, discretion, sound judgment, and adherence to company values and ethics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and share relevant information effectively.
- Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism while working in challenging situations.
Requirements:
- Must achieve Contrast Enhancement Technician certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
