Visual Inspector - CWI

Position Summary:

Acuren is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support local/callout operations in South Roxana, Illinois. The CWI will perform visual and non-destructive examinations of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with CWI standards and ASME requirements. The role involves preparing technical inspection reports, providing recommendations for equipment repair and maintenance, supporting welding and metallurgical activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while working closely with petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform visual and non-destructive examinations of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with CWI standards and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) requirements.
• Prepare and submit technically accurate inspection reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations regarding the repair, re-rating, replacement, and alteration of plant equipment to support safe operation within specified operating parameters.
• Provide technical input on welding and metallurgical issues as required by the client.
• Offer technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Fully comply with Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
• Travel as required to support operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• 5–10 years of experience or 2+ years of on-site experience.
• Additional API 653, API 510, or API 570 certification is considered an advantage.
• In-depth working knowledge of CWI and ASME standards.
• Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

• Must hold a valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Must possess strong knowledge of CWI and ASME standards.
• Ability to provide technical recommendations and inspection guidance.
• Willingness to travel when required.
