WJE has announced a new partnership with HausBots, marking the addition of the HB3 robotic crawler to its inspection and testing toolkit. The collaboration strengthens WJE’s ability to perform safer and more efficient inspections in challenging and hazardous environments.

The HB3 is a robotic testing platform designed to remotely traverse vertical and overhead surfaces, enabling access to locations that are difficult or risky for traditional inspection methods. By reducing the need for manual access equipment and improving inspection reach, the technology enhances both safety and project efficiency.

The integration of the HB3 expands WJE’s non-destructive evaluation (NDE) capabilities, supporting multiple inspection methods through a single robotic platform. These include pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) visual inspection, ground penetrating radar (GPR), half-cell potential (HCP) testing, and ultrasonic shear wave tomography (UST). The versatility of the system allows for comprehensive data collection across a wide range of infrastructure assessment applications.

WJE and HausBots plan to continue their collaboration to further expand the system’s capabilities and explore additional applications for robotic inspection across complex structures and asset types.

WJE also acknowledged Skyway Concession Company LLC for providing access to its structure, enabling testing and demonstration of the HB3 technology under real-world conditions.

The partnership reflects growing adoption of robotic platforms in the inspection and non-destructive testing sector, as asset owners and engineering firms increasingly prioritise safety, efficiency, and high-quality data collection in infrastructure assessment projects.
