Sparrows Group Lands $13 Million Contract for Vital Crane Replacement Project in the Middle East

Sparrows Group, a renowned engineering and maintenance services specialist serving the global energy and industrial sectors, has secured a significant contract for a crucial crane replacement project in the Middle East. The contract, valued at $13 million (USD), spans a timeline of 18 months.

The project's primary objective is to replace four BOS Liebherr cranes situated on four offshore platforms, which have exceeded their expected operational lifespan. Sparrows will be responsible for all engineering aspects of the replacement, ensuring a seamless transition and enhanced operational efficiency.

The scope of work encompasses a comprehensive range of tasks, including crane interfaces, installation, commissioning, and rigorous testing. Sparrows will also develop meticulously engineered lift plans to facilitate the safe removal and installation of the cranes using a specialized lift barge provided by the main contractor, alongside the new cranes. The project will unfold in two phases, with the initial phase conducted onshore at the company's Abu Dhabi facility and workshop, followed by phase two conducted offshore.
