North Star Imaging (NSI), a provider of industrial X-ray and computed tomography (CT) inspection solutions and part of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), has announced key leadership changes that will take effect on July 1, 2026.
The company confirmed that Rebecca Rudolph, who has served as General Manager of North Star Imaging for the past three years, has been promoted within the ITW family of companies to the role of Vice President and General Manager, Semiconductor, at Brooks Instrument. Brooks Instrument is a global provider of precision flow, pressure, vacuum, and vapor delivery solutions headquartered in Pennsylvania.
As part of the transition, Vamshi Sarangapani, currently Director of Strategic Marketing and Product Management at NSI, has been appointed General Manager of North Star Imaging. The company stated that the leadership changes are intended to ensure continuity for customers, partners, and employees while supporting future growth initiatives.
The announcement comes during a milestone year for NSI, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2026. Over four decades, the company has established itself as a provider of industrial digital radiography and computed tomography solutions serving industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, and electronics.
Sarangapani joined NSI in 2025 and has played a key role in shaping product strategy and execution across the company's portfolio of X-ray and CT inspection technologies, including hardware, software, and services. In his new role, he will assume full profit-and-loss responsibility and oversee the company’s strategic direction and growth.
Prior to joining NSI, Sarangapani held leadership positions at Honeywell and spent 16 years at Cummins Inc., where he worked across product strategy, supply chain management, sourcing, engineering, and international operations. His academic background includes a business program at Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MBA from Indiana University, a Master of Science in Engineering from Auburn University, and a Bachelor of Technology from IIT Madras.
"I am honored to lead NSI and excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of industrial X-ray and CT solutions. Together with our talented team, we will drive strategic innovation and deliver exceptional value to our customers through industry-leading technologies and solutions," said Vamshi Sarangapani, General Manager, North Star Imaging.
The company also recognized Rebecca Rudolph’s contributions during her tenure leading NSI. Under her leadership, North Star Imaging further strengthened its position in the global industrial X-ray and CT inspection market.
"Leading North Star Imaging has been a privilege, and I'm proud of what this team has accomplished. NSI is well positioned for its next chapter, and I have full confidence in Vamshi and the team to build on that foundation. I am excited to join Brooks Instrument and contribute to technologies that support the semiconductor industry, where precision, innovation, and process control play a critical role in enabling the next generation of advanced manufacturing." said Rebecca Rudolph, Vice President and General Manager, Semiconductor, Brooks Instrument.
The leadership transition reflects continued investment in the company’s growth strategy as demand for advanced non-destructive testing and industrial inspection technologies continues to expand across global manufacturing sectors.
