Motive Do Brasil has expanded its presence and team in Rio de Janeiro in response to growing client demand for advanced Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) expertise and locally based rental equipment.

The expansion builds on the company’s launch in Brazil in 2023 under Luis Ferrari, Testing, Inspection, and Certification Operations Manager and former Lead Inspector. Alongside its existing facility in Macaé, the company’s expanded Rio operations are intended to support increasingly complex offshore projects, including deepwater pre-salt operations and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) installations.

Motive’s Brazil team now operates from a new Rio de Janeiro office, bringing together professionals with expertise across technical coverage, local support and project delivery. The company is also increasing its local asset pool as it works to establish a broader service presence in the Brazilian market.

Motive Strengthens Brazil TIC Team

The company has added Eduardo Sessa, Dan Bolzan and Flavia Reis to its Brazil operations during 2026.

Eduardo Sessa – Regional Manager

Eduardo Sessa joined Motive in December 2025 as Regional Manager and leads the Brazil team. He brings more than two decades of senior-level energy sector experience, including long-term managerial positions overseeing complex offshore oil and gas projects for Tier 1 providers.

His experience in the local marketplace, alongside commercial and technical expertise, supports Motive’s efforts to deliver advanced, safe and compliant solutions across the region.

Dan Bolzan – Inspection Leader

Motive’s Brazil TIC team carries out a range of inspection projects, including standard Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) on crane wires, as well as Phased-Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and complex wire change-outs and cut-backs.

Dan Bolzan joined the team as Inspection Leader in March to strengthen these capabilities. He brings experience across the TIC sector and a track record in senior inspection positions with prominent companies in the field.

Flavia Reis – Business Support Executive

In May, Motive appointed Flavia Reis as Business Support Executive to further strengthen its Brazil operations. With offshore support experience, Reis is focused on client service and project delivery.

Brazil Expansion Supports Offshore Inspection Demand

Motive’s expanded operations connect its Brazil presence with its Houston base, supporting project execution across the Americas. The company highlighted its ability to provide rapid mobilisation and technical expertise from the US Gulf Coast to Brazilian ports.

The expansion follows the company’s growing presence in Brazil, where it has secured contracts with regional operators and contractors and continued investment in its local operations.

For the NDT and inspection sector, the Brazil team’s capabilities include NDT, MRT and PAUT alongside wider inspection and offshore support services, providing coverage for projects involving complex offshore assets and infrastructure.

“Our TIC services give clients the assurance that their assets and infrastructure remain monitored, fully compliant, and ready for what comes next. Coupled with our extensive Rental fleet and experienced offshore teams, we are an integrated partner, with the ability to support clients through the lifecycle of their projects,” said Jonathan Watt, Chief Commercial Officer at Motive Offshore Group.
