This week at ECNDT 2026, DR SYSTEMS officially unveiled iMeva AI, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of digital radiography and non-destructive testing in general.

For years, artificial intelligence has been one of the most discussed topics in industrial inspection. Numerous companies have announced research initiatives, development programs and future capabilities. Yet across the industry, practical and commercially available solutions have remained very limited.

With the launch of iMeva AI, DR SYSTEMS is helping move the conversation from future potential to real-world implementation.

Designed specifically for digital radiographic inspection of welded joints, iMeva AI automates image evaluation workflows that traditionally require significant time and operator involvement. The software introduces ADR (Assisted Defect Recognition) that support RTFI specialists throughout their daily routine, from weld localization and flaw analysis to automated report generation. The platform assists with indication detection, classification, measurement and location defying, helping standardize radiographic evaluation.

The launch of iMeva AI reflects a broader transformation taking place across industrial NDT. As inspection volumes continue to increase and qualified personnel remain in high demand, the industry requires solutions that improve efficiency, support consistency and reduce the burden of repetitive analytical tasks.

During the official launch presentation at ECNDT 2026, attendees were able to see real inspection cases processed by the software, confirming a fully developed solution ready for deployment across customer projects rather than a technology demonstration or prototype.

With iMeva AI, DR SYSTEMS expands its digital radiography ecosystem beyond image acquisition and traditional analysis, introducing a new level of intelligent data interpretation. The future of NDT will not be defined solely by how quickly images are acquired, but by how effectively information can be extracted from them. The era of AI-assisted radiographic evaluation has begun, and iMeva AI represents one of the industry's first steps from vision to reality.
