ASNT Level III NDT Specialist

Position Summary:

The ASNT Level III NDT Specialist is responsible for leading Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations with a strong focus on audits, training, personnel certification, and compliance. The role serves as the technical authority for NDT methods, ensuring adherence to industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements while developing training programs, conducting audits, certifying personnel, and supporting complex inspection activities.

Responsibilities:

• Audit & Compliance
• Conduct audits of NDT procedures and personnel.
• Ensure compliance with ASNT, ISO, API, ASME, and customer standards.
• Review inspection reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Support adherence to applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Training & Mentorship:

• Develop and deliver NDT training programs.
• Mentor and guide Level I and Level II NDT personnel.
• Assess personnel competency and support professional development initiatives.

Personnel Certification:

• Certify Level I and Level II personnel in accordance with ASNT guidelines.
• Maintain personnel qualification and certification records.
• Oversee certification processes and ensure compliance with established requirements.

Technical Leadership:

• Serve as the technical authority for NDT methods.
• Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures.
• Provide technical support for complex inspection activities.
• Ensure implementation of best practices across NDT operations.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare and review NDT manuals, procedures, and technical reports.
• Maintain documentation required for audits and compliance activities.
• Ensure records are accurate, complete, and aligned with regulatory and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• ASNT Level III certification in any five of the following methods:
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Radiographic Testing (RT)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
• Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Eddy Current Testing (ET)
• Visual Testing (VT)
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 8–12 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
• Experience in audits, training, and personnel certification.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in auditing.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience related to Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) functions.
