Position Summary:
The NDT Technician is responsible for carrying out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection activities using approved techniques in accordance with company procedures, relevant industry standards, and client specifications. The role supports the delivery of high-quality inspection services while ensuring safety, accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The NDT Technician is also responsible for maintaining inspection records, preparing reports, supporting team development, and adhering to all regulatory and company requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day inspections using welding inspection and NDT techniques in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Ensure client satisfaction by providing regular updates to the Site Manager or General Manager regarding job progress and status.
- Take responsibility for assigned inspection activities and projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
- Maintain accurate timesheets, inspection records, and all required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable legislation related to conventional and advanced NDT techniques.
- Verify that inspection equipment and consumables are within valid calibration dates before use.
- Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports in accordance with Quality Control procedures and submit reports within required timeframes.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by management to support operational requirements.
- Assist with the training and development of junior or less experienced personnel.
- Provide updated certification documentation as new qualifications are obtained.
- Adhere to the Inspector Declaration and maintain independence, impartiality, and integrity in all inspection activities.
- Comply with the Letter of Authorisation and operate within the scope of authorized activities.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- EN4179 MPI or DPI certification.
- Candidates holding PCN MPI or DPI certification with a genuine interest in converting to aerospace qualifications will also be considered.
- Documentary evidence of training completion and minimum on-the-job experience in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and BS EN ISO 9712 standards.
Desirable:
- EN4179, PCN, SNT, or CSWIP Level 1 or Level 2 certification.
- Working knowledge of the inspection and testing services provided by the organization.
