Our Ultrasonic Testing (Wrought Product) - Level I course provides comprehensive training in ultrasonic testing techniques for wrought products, such as forgings. This course is designed for individuals who want to develop a foundational understanding of ultrasonic testing and gain the necessary skills to perform tests under the supervision of Level 2 or Level 3 personnel.

Course Content:

The course covers a wide range of topics, including:

• Ultrasonic Testing Terminology
• Basic Ultrasonic Concepts
• Ultrasound Principles
• Principles of Ultrasonic Testing
• Flaw Detector Operation and Use
• Defect Location and Sizing Techniques
• Calibration and Reference Blocks
• Plotting Systems
• Application of Written Instructions
• Examination of Samples, Welds, Castings, and Wrought Products
• Report Writing and Discussion of Relevant Standards and Specifications (BS EN, etc.)

Responsibilities of Certified Level I:

Upon achieving Level I certification in Ultrasonic Testing, you will have demonstrated competence in carrying out NDT tasks according to written instructions and under the supervision of Level 2 or Level 3 personnel. The responsibilities of Level I personnel include:

• Setting up NDT equipment
• Performing tests
• Recording and classifying test results based on written criteria
• Reporting the results
• Please note that Level I certified personnel are not responsible for selecting the test method or technique to be used, nor for interpreting test results.

Training & Exam Duration:

• The training duration for PCN L1 UT is 40 hours. Additionally, training based on the SNT-TC-1A standard is provided for an additional 40 hours. The training and examination cover the specific sectors of Ultrasonic Testing, including Welds, Castings, and Wrought Products.
• Candidates who wish to receive training in multiple sectors are required to complete a 3-day training and examination program.

Work Experience Requirement:

• To obtain PCN Level I certification in Ultrasonic Testing, a minimum of 3 months of supervised work experience in UT is required.
• Please note that the duration of work experience is based on a nominal 40-hour workweek or the legal workweek in your region.
