Course Description:

Lavender International offers an on-site ultrasonic testing course for Spot Welds, tailored specifically for vehicle manufacturing companies. The course is developed based on the Employer-based Certification Programme SNT.TC.1A, and each company is offered a Written Practice that outlines the training, examination, and certification process for Ultrasonic Testing of Spot Weld Inspection.

The course is divided into Level 1 (40 hours) and Level 2 (an additional 40 hours) and covers the following topics:

• Theoretical principles of ultrasonic testing
• Beam geometry and modes of wave propagation
• Understanding of reflection and refraction of sound waves
• Fundamentals that control reliable results
• Modes of Spot Weld Failure and ultrasonic signatures on 2 plate welds
• Correct use of your own choice of flaw detector instrument
• Selection of Transducers
• Practical hands-on Calibration & Spot Weld Testing

The course includes 4 days of on-site training, which is customized to specific components in your factory, and concludes with an exam on the 5th day. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of ultrasonic testing principles, as well as practical experience in calibration and spot weld testing.
