  • Anatomy of an Ultrasound Instrument
  • TOFD Probes and Wedges
  • Wave Propagation, Scattering, Absorption, and Energy Spreading

Module 2: ToFD Theory

  • In-Depth Study of Butt Welds
  • Digital Instruments, Pulser/Receiver, Digitizer, Filters, and Gain
  • Probe Characteristics, Frequency Spectrum, and Signal Waveform
  • Wedges, Including Hard Wedges
  • Scanners, Encoders, and Huygens’ Principle
  • Snell’s Law, Critical Angles, and Beam Refraction
