Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Online Live Course

Are you an experienced PAUT technician looking to expand your knowledge and gain an internationally recognized certification in phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT)? This course is for you! TWI Training understands the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and is delivering live online courses so you can continue to improve your skills from anywhere in the world.

In accordance with BS EN ISO 9712, this course covers the principles of phased array inspection, probes, inspection sensitivity, and instruments. You will learn about scanning with phased array probes, calibration, and checks, software for data collection and analysis, as well as procedures for defect detection and sizing, flaw verification, and reporting.

The course content is the same as in-class training, and you will have access to theory training sessions delivered by TWI Training Lecturers via Zoom, WebEx, or similar platforms. The course material will be distributed electronically before and during the course. The practical aspects of the course will vary depending on your region, and the examination will take place when TWI Centres reopen post-COVID-19.

To be eligible for CSWIP certification, you must be qualified to a minimum of BS EN ISO 9712 in Ultrasonic Testing. ASNT UT Welds holders may also be considered on an individual basis. Non-BS EN ISO 9712 certificate holders will need to sit the CSWIP UT Welds Level 2 General Paper.

The minimum required duration of the training, which includes theoretical and practical elements, is 80 hours for Level 1 and 40 hours for Level 2 (104 hours for CSWIP Direct Level 2). You will also need a minimum of three months of experience for Level 1 and Level 2 certifications, with six months of experience for CSWIP Direct Level 2 certification.
