We offer a comprehensive online course suitable for NDT personnel, inspectors, and technicians who are involved in or responsible for weld inspection, inspection of castings and forgings during fabrication, or in-service inspection. This course covers the principles of magnetism, magnetic fields, induction, permeability and reluctance, and magnetization. You will learn about lines of force, methods of testing, interpretation of indications, demagnetization, practical exercises, methods of assessing sensitivity, and instruction writing.
At TWI Training, we understand that in-person training is not always feasible due to COVID-19 restrictions. Therefore, we are providing online live courses, so you can enhance your skills and knowledge from anywhere in the world. When you book with us, you will receive free pre-course eLearning materials.
The theory training sessions will be conducted over 3 days via Zoom or a similar platform, delivered by our experienced TWI Training Lecturers. The practical aspects of the course will be delivered over 2 days in a classroom setting. Upon completion of the training, you will be required to take a 1-day examination in person, once our TWI Centers reopen post-COVID-19.
Our training is in accordance with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9712 and meets the syllabus requirements for CSWIP. After successful completion of the examination and achieving the required experience, you will receive certification.
By the end of the course, you will be able to carry out magnetic particle inspection, explain the basic principles of magnetic particle inspection methods, and write clear and concise inspection instructions and test reports.
There are no mandatory entry requirements for this course. The price listed is for direct access to Level 2 and includes examination and levy fees. For the Level 1 option, please contact Customer Services. The minimum duration for experience prior to or following success in the qualification examination is one month for Level 1 and three months (four months for Direct Level 2) for Level 2. Certification will not be issued until successful completion of the examination and the required experience is achieved.
