Overview:

Our comprehensive Combined Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Liquid Penetrant Inspection (PT) course is designed to provide a cost and time-effective training solution for candidates with limited experience in MPI and PT. This 5-day course covers the essential knowledge and skills required for SNT Level 2 certification, focusing on the specific products, applications, and equipment used by your company.

Objectives:

This course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively perform combined MPI and PT inspections by industry standards. The training will be tailored to meet your company's specific requirements, ensuring a "limited qualification" that aligns with your specific inspection methods. The resulting certification will clearly state the covered areas, such as the "visible wet continuous method with an AC yoke on welds," without reference to other techniques or equipment.

Course Content:

• The SNT Level 2 MPI and PT training course covers the following topics:
• History of NDT
• Safe application of MPI and PT techniques
• Scope of application for MPI and PT
• Familiarization with inspection equipment
• Understanding the origin and nature of discontinuities
• Company-specific considerations (must be provided by the company)
• The SNT examinations will include a General and Specific Paper, practical samples, and function checks, all tailored to your company's written practice. The examination duration will be approximately 2 days, allowing candidates to demonstrate their proficiency in MPI and PT techniques.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in this course and participate in the examinations, candidates must comply with your company's Company Written Practice (CWP) Document and MT/PT Procedures. These documents must be in place before course registration and examination administration. Candidates with a minimum of 4 months of MT experience and 3 months of PT experience are eligible to attend the course. Technicians without the required experience will be referred back to the company to consider extending their training period to enhance their understanding of the subject matter. A Company Headed Letter confirming the candidate's experience in MT (4 months) and PT (3 months) is required for enrollment.
