Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), Level - II

Course Objective:

Our comprehensive AUT Level II course aims to provide participants with rigorous classroom training and examination, leading to a Level II qualification in Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT). This certification complies with the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A based employer's written practice. Upon successful completion, a valid Level II certificate holder will be formally eligible to execute zonal-discrimination-based automated phased array ultrasonic examination on relevant test jobs, adhering to the applicable NDT written procedure, and generating accurate test reports.

Course Content:

• History of AUT, Advantages, Limitations, and Applications.
• Basic Theory of Ultrasonics, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), and Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD).
• Zone-Discrimination Concept and Scan Plan.
• PA Probe Operation and Factors Affecting the Choice of Probes.
• Instrument Operation, Software Settings, and Standardization.
• Specific Calibration Block Fabrication.
• System Calibration and Sensitivity Setting.
• Sensitivity Check, Optimization of Scanning Parameters, and Data Collection.
• Signal Interpretation to Identify Relevant Indications and Sizing.
• Evaluation Against Acceptance Criteria and Reporting.
• Understanding Codes, Standards, Specifications, and Operating Procedures.

Course Duration:

• Training: 8 days (80 hours)
• Exam: 2 days (14 hours)

Pre-requirements:

Participants must possess a valid vision certificate, a valid PAUT Level II certification, and a minimum of 320 hours of experience in AUT.

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an ASNT Training certificate and a Level II certificate, both valid for 5 years.
