The Austrian start-up Senseven, which transforms smartphones into smart and mobile inspection systems, is proud to announce the launch of its innovative valve inspection software solution for hazardous areas. Together with the strategic partner i.safe MOBILE, the world market and innovation leader for explosion-proof communication devices, the inspection system Valve Sense was developed especially for Ex zones.
Industrial customers can now use the software and AI-based system in conjunction with i.safe MOBILE's IS540.1 smartphone to monitor critical valves in explosive hazardous areas. This enables companies to improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of their production processes.
With the launch of Valve Sense for Ex-zones, Senseven, and i.safe MOBILE are pioneers in applying today's digital capabilities to an inspection system for leak detection in valves. The user-friendly kit easily connects acoustic emission sensors to i.safe MOBILE's innovative 5G smartphone IS540.1 and transforms it into a smart valve inspection system through the Senseven software.
The project team placed safety and user-friendliness at the center of their development. The Senseven software guides the user through the inspection process in a self-explanatory way and algorithms and artificial intelligence help interpret the sensor signals.
All inspection data is automatically stored in a cloud-based platform (back office) for further analysis and easy reporting. The simple solution enables anyone to detect leaking valves with water, gas, steam, or air at an early stage and react promptly - without any training or expertise. Companies can thus check their plants regularly without interrupting the process, can detect damage at an early stage, make their maintenance processes more efficient, and save massive amounts of time and money.
The combined expertise of both companies enables Valve Sense to meet the demanding requirements of customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil, and gas processing and other demanding industries in explosive hazardous areas.

The Valve Sense set consists of a case containing the IS540.1 smartphone equipped with the Senseven software, the IS-VS1A.1 measurement electronics, a waveguide, and acoustic emission sensors will be available from Q3/2023.
