Excillum, a global leader in extreme-brightness microfocus and nanofocus X-ray sources, has teamed up with Royma Tech (Suzhou) Precision Co., Ltd., a premier provider of industrial computed tomography (CT) and X-ray solutions, to enhance the speed and accuracy of inline CT inspection systems for battery quality assurance.
Royma integrates Excillum’s MetalJet X-ray sources into its RMCT4000 systems, which are designed for automated inline CT inspection. The first installations are already operational at customer sites, targeting quality control of batteries used in consumer electronics.
"We are proud to help world-leading brands to assure their manufacturing quality and efficiency. With the brightness of Excillum’s products, the X-ray source is no longer the main bottle neck in industrial CT. For a key customer, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies, we can now significantly increase the number of batteries per hour that can be inspected, whilst ensuring micrometer resolution and extreme accuracy," said Chao Zhang, CEO of Royma.
David Lindblom, CEO of Excillum, added, "We are impressed by the customer centricity, fast time-to-market, and technical capabilities of Royma. Excillum X-ray sources’ brightness, ease-of-use and automatic optimization is a great fit with Royma’s state-of-the-art high throughput inline CT solutions. Together, we bring industrial quality assurance and manufacturing process improvement capabilities to a new level."
This partnership marks a significant advancement in industrial CT inspection technology, enabling higher throughput and precision critical to manufacturing sectors that demand uncompromised quality standards.
