Position Summary:

The NDT Technician is responsible for performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection activities using approved techniques in accordance with company procedures, relevant industry standards, and client specifications. The role ensures inspections are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements. The technician is also responsible for producing accurate inspection reports, maintaining equipment, and supporting continuous operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the most effective NDT techniques on components requiring inspection.
  • Ensure the work area is safe before carrying out NDT activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and Take II assessments as required.
  • Perform NDT equipment function tests according to established procedures and report any faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Carry out inspections within the parameters of applicable specifications.
  • Evaluate inspection results in accordance with relevant specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise inspection reports detailing inspection methods, results, findings, limitations, and test restrictions where applicable.
  • Communicate any areas of high density or significant findings to supervision.
  • Complete inspection work in a timely and efficient manner while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company operating procedures and statutory or client specifications.
  • Comply with the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) Management Systems.
  • Eliminate waste where possible and contribute to environmentally responsible practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties of a reasonable nature as assigned by supervision or management.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT 3.1)
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Dye Penetrant Testing (Liquid Penetrant)
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2 Ultrasonics 3.2
  • SNT Level 2 Thickness, Lamination, and Corrosion Monitoring
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Hardness Testing
  • GCSE/Standard Grade passes in English, Mathematics, and Science

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform NDT inspections safely and in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of NDT inspection methods and reporting requirements.
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess inspection results accurately and prepare technical reports.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures, engineering documentation, and regulations.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills, including geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and make sound technical decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PeopleSoft.
