Ultrasonic Immersion Technician

Position Summary:

Intertek is seeking an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician to join its NDT operations team based at Victory Park in Derby, UK. The position involves operating automated/manual ultrasonic immersion equipment to evaluate industrial and aerospace components, conducting process control checks, and documenting inspection findings according to established standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Ultrasonic Immersion systems to perform precise component scanning and flaw detection.
• Execute routine system and process control checks to ensure equipment calibration and accuracy.
• Assist in developing testing methods and specialized inspection techniques.
• Perform gate inspections and evaluate component integrity against defined specifications.
• Compile, verify, and generate comprehensive inspection reports and data records.
• Maintain effective daily communication with client representatives and internal supervisors.

Qualifications Requirements:

• Valid Ultrasonic Testing qualifications under NAS410 or PCN schemes.
• Practical background in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or basic engineering disciplines.
• Competency in mathematical calculations and standard computer applications.
• Ability to work flexible shift schedules including early mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating immersion UT systems within laboratory or precision manufacturing environments.
