About Ahmed Alkhaldi
I am a Senior Pipeline Construction Engineer with over 10 years of experience in project management, pipeline construction, and maintenance. I have successfully overseen the on-site execution and final commissioning of more than 800 kilometers of pipelines, including both underground and aboveground installations, using materials such as DSS, GRE, LLRTP, and CS+PE.
I hold a Technical Authority Level 3 certification in pipeline construction and design, accredited by Shell. I am passionate about leveraging innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency and safety of pipeline construction.
In addition, I represented PDO and Oman at the 19th Pipeline Technology Conference in Berlin on April 11, 2024. During the conference, I had the privilege of presenting my technical paper, 'Reliability of MIF Compared to Conventional Welding,' in the welding session. This paper evaluates the reliability of mechanical interference fit (MIF) technology compared to conventional welding, considering factors such as productivity, manpower, cost implications, hazards and risks, quality, and greenhouse gas emissions. The objective is to provide recommendations for the use of MIF technology in flowlines and pipeline construction. The full conference paper will be available in the official PTC pipeline open knowledge base:
Details of my participation were also featured in the latest edition of Al Fahal magazine.
Furthermore, I presented my technical paper, 'Reliability of MIF Technology Compared to Conventional Welding,' at the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show on April 24, 2024. I also had the honor of speaking at the Oman Materials, Corrosion, and Integrity Summit from September 9-11, 2024, where I again presented my work on the reliability of MIF technology versus conventional welding."
