XARION is redefining Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) with laser-based ultrasonic inspection that works entirely without contact or coupling media.
Founded in 2012 in Vienna, Austria, XARION pioneered the world’s first membrane-free optical microphone, a patented ultrasound sensor that detects ultrasonic signals directly in air. Combined with pulsed laser excitation, this sensor enables ultrasonic inspection of adhesives, welds, multi-material components, and complex geometries – all without water, gel, or physical contact.
Since then, XARION has been developing and deploying automation-ready inspection solutions in production facilities worldwide. XARION’s technology can be integrated into gantry scanners, mounted on robot arms, and deployed for mobile, cobot-assisted MRO applications.
It reliably detects delaminations, disbonds, cracks, and porosity, even in hard-to-reach areas where conventional water-coupled ultrasonic testing falls short.
Today, XARION continues to push the boundaries of NDT, delivering inline, contact-free, and highly flexible ultrasonic inspection solutions for industries ranging from aerospace and automotive to microelectronics and battery production.
