From its humble beginnings as a support company for the Pointe-a-Pierre oil refinery, TISL has grown and evolved, consistently providing the finest in non-destructive examination (NDE) and other quality assurance services.
As the very first local inspection company in Trinidad, TISL has maintained a leadership position from its inception. It has always been forward-thinking, staying ahead of the curve by adopting the latest technology and introducing advanced services to better serve its valued clientele. Throughout its journey of development, TISL has expanded its offerings to encompass comprehensive solutions for condition monitoring, integrity management, and maintenance, both onshore and offshore, ensuring that it remains the go-to choice for a wide range of services.
The story of TISL's founding is a testament to its dedication and determination. Trinidadian Mechanical Engineer, Gerard Pampellonne, recognized the growing potential of offering inspection services on a contractual basis. In 1972, he took a leap of faith and established Trinidad Inspection Services, starting operations from the garage of his Vistabella home. His first employee was none other than his gardener, and together, they handled all inspection jobs. Meanwhile, Gerard's wife, Kathleen, managed the company's finances.
From its modest beginnings, TISL has come a long way. It moved to its first official office in the San Fernando wharf and, after a few years, constructed a warehouse in Marabella. Today, the company boasts offices in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate and Galeota Point, with operations spanning across Trinidad, Suriname, and Guyana. TISL supports a diverse range of industries and proudly employs nearly 300 dedicated professionals.

Advanced NDE Services
As an extension of our traditional NDE services, we have an advanced NDE department to offer even more technical support and added value to our inspections. Lifting Equipment Services
We offer fully compliant LOLER inspections with cloud-based reporting and certification management software to aid our clientele in managing their equipment and lifting assets. Our LEEA and IRATA-trained personnel also perform load testing services using our suite of water bags, concrete weights, hydraulic jacks, pad eye testers, and load cells. Our inspectors are also eddy current certified to perform the surface inspection without the removal of coatings for pre/post load testing, as well as pad eye certification of CCUs.
