Overview
In November 1997, TOMTEC LIMITED was incorporated as a ship surveying and thickness measurement company in Kobe, Japan. Subsequently, in December 1997, TOMTEC NDT MARINE SERVICES PTE LTD was established in Singapore, as a ship surveying and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) company with our core services providing to the Marine industry. We further expanded our scope of services to the Marine & Offshore industry to provide specialized Technical and Remote Inspection services.
Our reputation, quality and perseverance has resulted in customer requesting our services all around the world. For twenty years since we have founded our company, we have more than surpassed our anticipated sales and look forward to continued growth.
In 2002, we became the resident contractor of Keppel Corporation (Keppel Shipyard -Benoi). In 2005, we became the resident contractor of Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard (Sembawang Shipyard).
An experienced and recognizable management team coupled with a strong commitment to staff training and mentoring across the board has provided the company with a highly developed and stable skill base.

ULTRASONIC TESTING
ULTRASONIC TESTING (UT) is a method of characterizing the thickness or internal structure of a test piece through the use of high frequency sound waves. Ultrasonic testing is very sensitive test method for detection of embedded linear discontinuities. It is fast, economical and results are highly repeatable and reliable.
At TOMTEC, we ensure that all our technicians are competent and certified to internationally recognized standards. TOMTEC performs Ultrasonic Testing in accordance with class requirements, client specific requirements, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, API 1104, API 650, API RP 2X, ASTM A388, ASTM A745, ASTM E164, ASTM A609, ASTM E114, BS EN ISO 17640, BS EN 10160, BS EN 10306, BS EN 10308, ASME BPVC Section V - Article 4 & 5, and similar national and international standards.
ULTRASONIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT
ULTRASONIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT (UTM) is a widely used non-destructive testing technique for measuring the thickness of a material from one side. It is fast, reliable, and versatile. Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM) is commonly used and the method can be applied to a wide range of structures and components that includes ship hulls, piping, pressure vessels and structural steels.
TOMTEC's inspectors are highly experienced in performing ultrasonic thickness measurements and corrosion evaluations for all industry sectors including marine, offshore, oil and gas, power generation and construction industries. In addition, TOMTEC provides solutions for all your thickness gauging and corrosion monitoring requirements as we can perform follow-up non-destructive testing to further investigation of the results.
