Overview
Dacon Inspection Services was originally incorporated in Oslo, Norway in 1979 as a diving and sub sea inspection company. After initial involvement in several development projects in the early days of oil exploration in the North Sea, Dacon was contracted in 1984 by Elf to develop the world’s first ROV deployed internal Well head inspection tool.
Since those early days Dacon Inspection Services been part of numerous developments for the oil & gas sector, primarily within internal inspection and deep sea application. Our continuous development work has made us a leader in oil field related riser, caisson and pipeline inspection, as well as a recovery expert for retrieval of “lost” or stuck equipment inside piping systems. In 1993 Dacon’s first office in Asia was opened in Singapore, providing inspection services in the South East Asia region. Soon after a representation office was established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with services being provided mainly for Malaysia’s offshore field and eastern seaboard petrochemical industries.
In 1996 Dacon Inspection Services established a new head office in Rayong, Thailand and soon was established as one of the leading inspection service providers in both offshore and onshore oil and gas and in the country’s bustling petrochemical, refinery and power industry. Around this time Dacon started development of a brand new intelligent pigging system on request from the French Total and Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTTEP) and this represented the beginning of our Pipeline Services division which has now grown to be one of Asia’s leading Pipeline Integrity companies.
Since that time Dacon Inspection Services has continually expanded in size both in terms of business and in terms of physical footprint. Our head office now occupies 2 acres of land and incorporates multiple divisions in separate buildings as well as test yards and training facilities and we have additional offices in Norway, Singapore and Indonesia. We consider it a great testament to the quality and integrity of our company and the trust placed in us by our clients that each and every year we are forced to expand our facilities to meet every growing demands.
