Here’s an excerpt from the amazing conversation our team had….

What initially sparked your interest in NDT?

My initial interest in NDT was sparked by a combination of curiosity, family influence, and a passion for hands-on problem-solving. Growing up, I had family in the industry, and their experiences always fascinated me. Hearing their stories about unique inspections, a variety of industries, and the critical role NDT plays in ensuring safety and reliability made me want to learn more.

What truly solidified my interest was seeing how many opportunities were available in the field. Everyone I knew in NDT was able to get good jobs, which gave me confidence that this was a stable and rewarding career path. "

Take us through your career journey in NDT, from your early experiences to your current leadership position.

My journey in NDT started at the Applied Aerospace Technical Academy (AATA), where I gained the foundational knowledge that would shape my career. My first job was as a helper, where I was fortunate to experience multiple industries, including pipeline integrity, new pipeline construction, storage tanks, and fabrication shops. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in multiple NDT methods, including MT, PT, RT, and UT, which helped build my technical skills and understanding.

From there, I transitioned into the rental side of NDT. This was an exciting shift because it exposed me to an incredible variety of technologies and applications across different industries. The fast-paced environment solidified the saying that "NDT doesn't sleep"—there was always something happening, and I loved the constant learning and problem-solving that came with it.

My next step was moving into NDT equipment sales, joining Sensor Networks to sell transducers and wedges. This role allowed me to deepen my technical knowledge and work closely with customers to understand their inspection challenges. When Eddyfi acquired SNI, I transitioned into my current role as an Eddyfi sales manager. Here, I’m continuously learning about advanced NDT technologies and working with customers to provide innovative inspection solutions. Being part of a company that pushes the boundaries of NDT is both exciting and rewarding. My journey has been filled with learning, growth, and incredible opportunities, and I can't wait to see where it takes me next!

Can you share any significant challenges you faced in your career and how you overcame them?

"One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in my career is the steep learning curve that comes with understanding the vast range of NDT technologies. Each method has its own science, specialized equipment, and best-fit applications, and as someone relatively new to the industry, it can be overwhelming to absorb all the details. It’s a constant process of growth, and I’ve only begun to scratch the surface.

To overcome this, I’ve made continuous learning a priority. I ask a lot of questions, seek out training opportunities, and rely on experienced colleagues and mentors for guidance. Working directly with customers has also been invaluable—every conversation and application presents a new opportunity to expand my knowledge. While the learning curve is steep, it’s also what makes NDT so exciting. There’s always something new to discover, and that challenge is what keeps me motivated."
