ScoutDI & Talisman
Discover in ScoutDI & Thornetix’s Event - new drone-based UTM payload enabling real-time ultrasonic thickness measurement during flight on 26th November.
The webinar, organized as a partner event by ScoutDI and Thornetix, introduces the Next-Generation UTM (Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement) Payload for the Scout 137 Drone System. This innovative payload, developed in collaboration with Thornetix, integrates drone-based ultrasonic inspection directly into flight operations, combining spot cleaning, couplant feeding, and thickness measurement in a seamless workflow.
At the heart of this solution is Thornetix’s Talisman™ multi-channel UT module, which enables highly accurate readings on various materials mid-flight, supports automated peak detection, and allows full pulser control—all managed via a tablet interface. The system also features interchangeable brush heads, a smart release probe for detachment in flight, and real-time control over UT parameters.
During the 45-minute webinar, attendees will see how this tool can dramatically enhance remote inspection capabilities, especially within confined or hard-to-reach industrial environments. Demonstrations, real-world inspection data, and validation results will highlight how this payload bridges a long-standing gap in NDT by enabling continuous, aerial ultrasonic measurement. The event is particularly relevant for NDT professionals, asset owners, and inspection-service providers who are looking to adopt automated, drone-based inspection for high-risk or inaccessible areas.
The webinar is hosted by:
- Benjamin Skonseng, Mechanical Engineer at ScoutDI — one of the developers behind the Scout 137 system
- Eivind Sivertsen, Marketing Director at ScoutDI — with extensive technical and industry experience
- Stuart Thorogood, Founder & Director at Thornetix — a veteran in the NDT space with deep expertise in ultrasonics (UT, Phased Array, TOFD)
