In this Inspection 360 event, we will be discussing what CCO (Chrome Carbide Overlay) is and why we use it. CCO is found in assets such as hydro transport lines, truck beds and pump boxes. It is an Iron-based alloy high in Chrome that offers great resistance against abrasion but is also prone to cracking due to the brittle nature of the CCO. See how we can improve the probability of detection and characterization with Probe technology: small pitch and high frequency, and with novel UT technologies such as the Total Focusing Method (TFM) and Phase Coherence Imaging (PCI).
