Flexible Digital Detector Arrays for Nondestructive Evaluation

Radiography codes and standards often require that the detector be in direct contact with the weld.

Radiography codes and standards often require that the detector be in direct contact with the weld. Until today, only film and computed radiography could satisfy that requirement. Flexible digital detector arrays (DDAs) are now available to the industry. DDAs bent repeatedly around a curved surface result in workflow time savings and productivity benefits. An overview of the technology and applications are discussed as part of this presentation.
