Aerospace Testing

Manufacturing in the Aerospace industry involves many different materials, processes and teams working together, or supplying each other, to produce a highly complex and safety-critical product. One of the most important stages in production is the testing phase, which will determine that the product will perform very safely and according to design criteria. This sector is in the midst of a new technology revolution, largely driven by the central theme of “Net Zero”. With this ambition comes challenges around new legislation, new materials, processes, designs, propulsion methods and new skills. In tandem is the demand for increased scrutiny of product-development procedures and the need to reduce development costs without reducing safety, performance, durability or quality.

We will also discuss some of the shifting trends in the sector, which will inform how testing might develop to accommodate the current disruptive nature of change.
