Sherwin RC-77 Fluorescent Penetrant

RC-77 is a high-performance Level 4, Method B & D non-water washable fluorescent penetrant specifically formulated for inspecting castings, extrusions, and similar components. This versatile, general-purpose penetrant is ideal for use on a wide range of materials, including aluminum and magnesium, making it a valuable tool in the non-destructive testing (NDT) process. The fluorescent properties of RC-77 ensure that surface defects are easily detectable under UV light, providing clear and reliable inspection results. RC-77 is particularly well-suited for applications requiring the highest levels of sensitivity and precision, such as in the aerospace, airframe, turbine engine, and missile manufacturing industries. For over a decade, this penetrant has been trusted by leading manufacturers to deliver consistent and accurate defect detection, ensuring the safety and integrity of critical components. As a non-water washable penetrant, RC-77 is compatible with both Method B and Method D emulsification and removal processes, offering flexibility and adaptability to different inspection scenarios. Furthermore, RC-77 complies with stringent low sulfur and low halogen requirements, making it safe for use in environments where these standards are mandatory.
