WH Scott Group has completed the acquisition of Workplace Inspection Services Ltd, a Pontyclun-based company specialising in engineering inspections for regulatory compliance across the UK.
Founded in 2011 by Huw Davies, Workplace Inspection Services Ltd provides inspection services aligned with key health and safety regulations, including LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, and COSHH inspections. The company has built its operations around delivering independent and reliable inspection solutions.
Following the acquisition, Workplace Inspection Services Ltd will become part of the Metlab business unit, marking Metlab’s first expansion into Great Britain. Metlab, established in 1982 in Ireland, operates across independent inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), construction material testing, and certification.
Metlab is accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to ISO 17024 (Certification of Persons), ISO 17020 (Inspection), and ISO 17025 (Testing), and also holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications. The company became part of the WH Scott Group in 2023.
This transaction represents the eighth acquisition within WH Scott Group’s portfolio of specialist engineering and testing companies. The integration is expected to expand the group’s service offerings, client base, and technical expertise, particularly in inspection and NDT-related services.
The combined organisation will continue to focus on delivering enhanced solutions, maintaining service quality, and supporting clients with an expanded range of inspection, testing, and certification capabilities.
