Webinar Launch: Unveiling the Engineering Ethics Audit Report and Profession's Action Plan

In June 2023, the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) will release the results of an extensive audit aimed at assessing the ethical practices within the engineering profession in the UK. This audit is a significant step following the publication of "Engineering Ethics: Maintaining Society's Trust in the Engineering Profession" last year.

The independent audit sought input from engineers, technicians, companies, and professional bodies, covering various aspects of ethical practice. It explored indicators of ethical behavior, identified priorities for ethical conduct, and highlighted areas where confidence was lacking. The audit report does not shy away from addressing critical topics and behaviors that require attention.

Accompanying the audit, the profession's response to the findings will also be unveiled. The profession's response will outline clear actions to be taken to address the identified areas of concern, demonstrating a commitment to upholding ethical standards.

To mark this significant milestone, an online webinar will be held on 14 June 2023, at 12:30 pm. Interested individuals can register to attend the launch through the provided link. The webinar will feature a panel discussion focusing on the audit's findings and the profession's intended response. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session to further delve into the topic.

This webinar serves as a platform for open dialogue, fostering transparency and accountability within the engineering community and reinforcing the importance of maintaining society's trust in the profession's ethical practices.
