VisiConsult X-ray Systems & Solutions GmbH has acquired DEMA Dieter Enghausen Maschinenbau GmbH as a fully owned subsidiary. The Hamburg-based company is one of the leading manufacturers of radiation protection cabins and stands for premium German quality. All around 25 employees will continue to be employed.
DEMA will continue to operate independently despite the new shareholder structure: As one positive outcome, of course, end customers and partners of VisiConsult will be able to purchase cost-optimized X-ray booths directly from the manufacturer. “Furthermore, as there is a clear separation between DEMA and VisiConsult, the industrial X-ray NDT market players can continue to purchase DEMA solutions and benefit from economies of scale,” explains Lennart Schulenburg, CEO of VisiConsult. “With the acquisition of DEMA, we want to achieve long-term delivery reliability at competitive conditions. Due to increasing regulatory requirements, the number of qualified suppliers of very large X-ray cabins in particular is declining worldwide,” adds Lars Grebien, Head of Operations at VisiConsult and newly appointed Managing Director of DEMA. “DEMA is known for high-quality X-ray cabins, designed to shield energies up to 600 kV, and in particular for larger cabins with lengths of 12 meters, specifically for the inspection of aircraft tail units as well as pipe systems. However, the portfolio also includes manipulators, and augers and conveyor screws,” Grebien continues.
Lars Grebien will work alongside Oliver Arendt, the company's long-standing overseeing manager with procuration, to drive DEMA forward. DEMA was founded around 40 years ago by Dieter Enghausen and has been family-owned ever since. The takeover by strategic investor VisiConsult has ensured that the company's succession has been positively resolved for the benefit of all employees. DEMA will operate under the name DEMA Machinery GmbH in future.
