Vermon has announced the launch of Vermon Group, marking a new phase in its growth strategy with three key developments: the acquisition of ultrasound subsystem specialist Moduleus, the inauguration of TransducerWorks' new manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, and the establishment of a unified group platform designed to expand its ultrasound technology offerings and industrial capabilities.
The company stated that the three initiatives are aimed at strengthening its ability to deliver broader solutions, increased manufacturing capacity, and faster support to customers across the medical and industrial ultrasound sectors.
Founded in 1984, Vermon has established its presence in the design and manufacture of high-performance ultrasound probes and transducers. The company supports organizations developing ultrasound-based technologies, ranging from startups to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with expertise spanning the complete acoustic value chain, from piezoelectric materials to advanced manufacturing processes.
With operations across Europe and the United States, Vermon Group now brings together more than 600 employees, including over 130 dedicated research and development experts, to support the development of ultrasound technologies for medical and industrial applications.
A key milestone in the expansion is the acquisition of Moduleus, a company specializing in OEM ultrasound subsystems. The addition broadens Vermon Group's capabilities beyond transducers by incorporating subsystem integration, enabling the company to support customers across a larger portion of the ultrasound value chain with more integrated solutions.
The company also announced the opening of TransducerWorks' new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania. The purpose-built site features ISO 7 and ISO 8 certified cleanrooms, an integrated machine shop, and more than three times the production capacity of its previous facility.
According to Vermon, the new U.S. facility strengthens its manufacturing footprint by increasing production capacity, improving responsiveness, and enhancing proximity to customers in North America.
As part of the restructuring, Vermon Group will operate as a unified platform bringing together four complementary entities while allowing each business to retain its individual identity and technical specialization.
The group's operations include Vermon in Tours, France, which focuses on the design and manufacture of high-performance ultrasound probes and transducers for OEM customers; TransducerWorks in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, supporting North American manufacturing and customer requirements; Moduleus in Tours, France, specializing in customizable ultrasound subsystems; and Vermon NDT in Walhalla, South Carolina, which develops Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) probes for industrial applications.
From an NDT perspective, Vermon NDT remains a key part of the expanded group, supplying PAUT probes for demanding inspection environments across the oil and gas, energy, and aerospace sectors. The integration into Vermon Group provides access to broader research and development capabilities and expanded manufacturing resources while continuing to support industrial ultrasonic inspection applications.
The launch of Vermon Group is intended to provide customers with a single platform offering access to ultrasound components, transducers, subsystems, and integrated OEM solutions, supported by shared research capabilities and expanded industrial capacity across Europe and the United States.
