Universal Synaptics Corporation (USC) and GGAS Aviation Services have entered into a strategic partnership to deliver advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) education, technology, and training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking a significant step toward strengthening in-country technical capabilities in aviation and critical electrical systems maintenance.

Under the agreement, the two companies will establish an accredited educational programme focused on advanced NDT methodologies, with a specific emphasis on intermittent electrical fault detection—one of the most challenging failure modes in complex aerospace and industrial systems. The initiative will provide specialised training on electrical systems degradation behaviour, environmental influences on reliability, and advanced diagnostic techniques using USC’s proprietary technologies, including the Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System 2.0 (IFDIS 2.0) and the Portable Intermittent Fault Detector (PIFD).

The programme is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Saudization policy and Vision 2030 objectives, supporting the development of local technical expertise through structured education, professional development, and hands-on training. Initially targeting Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) and aviation sustainment professionals, the partnership is expected to expand into broader electrical and electronics sustainment sectors critical to the Kingdom’s industrial and defence ecosystem.

The collaboration builds on an established working relationship between USC and GGAS, following earlier deployments of advanced intermittent fault detection technologies and training programmes delivered to Riyadh Air. By combining USC’s deep expertise in non-destructive electrical fault diagnostics with GGAS’s strong local presence and aviation support capabilities, the partnership aims to set new benchmarks for NDT-driven reliability and maintenance excellence in the region.

“At GGAS Aviation Services, we are honored to join forces with Universal Synaptics in advancing the Kingdom’s next generation of technical excellence,” said Naif Almatrafi, Chief Executive Officer of GGAS Aviation Services. “This partnership strengthens our mission to build world-class in-country capabilities across aviation, GSE, tooling, and advanced maintenance systems. Together, we are contributing directly to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by empowering local talent, elevating operational reliability, and delivering innovative solutions that set new benchmarks for the region’s aerospace sector.”

“Universal Synaptics is proud to partner with GGAS and welcomes the opportunity to develop future multi-sector maintenance and sustainment leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Kenneth Anderson, Universal Synaptics President & CEO. “Our collaboration and partnership with GGAS reflect our shared commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives by contributing world-class educational development, training, and intermittent fault detection and isolation products and equipment.”

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Ogden, Utah, Universal Synaptics is recognised globally for its leadership in detecting and isolating intermittent electrical faults that often lead to costly No Fault Found (NFF) outcomes. GGAS Aviation Services, operating exclusively within Saudi Arabia, provides aviation supply-chain solutions, high-reliability tooling, advanced diagnostics, and technical support across the aerospace, MRO, and defence sectors.

Together, the two organisations are positioning advanced NDT education and intermittent fault detection technologies as critical enablers of safer, more reliable, and more sustainable aviation and industrial operations across the Kingdom.
