Trendspek has raised AUS$6 million in a funding round led by OIF Ventures to expand its 3D asset intelligence platform for oil and gas operators. The investment will support product development, team growth and customer support in North America and Europe, as energy companies increasingly use digital inspection records for preventive maintenance, turnaround planning and remote asset assessment.
The company's platform consolidates inspection data from drones, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), LiDAR and other sources into a shared 3D record of industrial assets. This allows operators to review asset condition remotely, track defects in context and plan maintenance activities while facilities remain operational.
3D Asset Records Support Remote Inspection and NDT
Trendspek's platform enables oil and gas teams to conduct remote Level 1 and Level 2 inspections, document defects and provide contractors with a shared view of asset condition. The records can also help teams measure repair areas and identify access points before work begins, supporting maintenance scope definition and turnaround planning.
The platform can integrate non-destructive testing (NDT) technologies from specialist providers, including Osprey Integrity and Voliro. By connecting NDT outputs with 3D asset records, the system can help inspection and engineering teams place findings within the physical context of the asset.
The records can be updated during subsequent inspection cycles, creating a continuing history of asset condition and helping teams monitor changes over time.
Energy Operators Use Trendspek for Preventive Maintenance
Trendspek is used by major energy organisations, including Chevron, Woodside Energy, Grain LNG, Cenovus Energy and Suncor Energy.
Cenovus Energy has used the platform through Osprey Integrity as part of its preventive maintenance programme, achieving 85% more facility coverage and identifying more than 415 defects. Woodside Energy has also presented its operational use of 3D remote inspection and planning with Trendspek at the 2026 Energy, Drone and Robotics Summit.
Grain LNG has been shortlisted for the 2026 IAM UK Chapter Awards' Digital Innovation Award for its programme, Smarter Working at Grain LNG – Asset and Maintenance Collaboration Driving Digital Innovation, which uses Trendspek technology.
These applications highlight the role of digital inspection records in helping operators coordinate maintenance activities, document asset condition and prepare for planned shutdowns.
Funding to Accelerate AI-Driven Inspection Capabilities
The new funding will support Trendspek's artificial intelligence roadmap, including automated defect detection designed to identify changes between inspection cycles. By drawing on existing inspection histories, the company is developing tools to help asset owners and engineering teams identify areas where conditions have changed and determine which findings require attention.
Derek Feebrey, CEO and Co-Founder of Trendspek, said:
“Most asset owners we meet are not short of inspection data. They are short of a reliable picture of what they own, what condition it is in, and what is changing,” said Feebrey, CEO and Co-Founder of Trendspek. “The job now is getting more life out of what is already there, and that only works if the condition record is accurate and it holds up over time.”
The company was founded in 2019 by Derek Feebrey, Fiona Church and Mitch Deam, former Qantas pilots who had previously built one of Australia's first commercial drone companies. They established Trendspek to address the challenge of converting increasingly sophisticated inspection data into usable, reliable asset records.
OIF Ventures Backs Digital Asset Management Platform
Oliver Darwin, Investor at OIF Ventures, said:
“Trendspek has built the condition layer that owners of some of the world's most critical assets now rely on, and the dataset behind it compounds with every inspection,” said Oliver Darwin, Investor at OIF Ventures. “These assets are getting older and more complex, while the tools used to manage them have stood still. We're incredibly excited to be backing Derek, Fiona, Mitch and the team as they build the global standard for how critical infrastructure is managed.”
The investment will enable Trendspek to expand its team, advance its product roadmap and provide additional expert support to customers in North America and Europe.
As energy operators seek to extend the service life of existing infrastructure, the combination of 3D asset records, remote inspection and integrated NDT data offers a way to consolidate condition information and support maintenance planning across inspection cycles.
