TIGHITCO Inc. has announced enhancements to its integrated Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities, aimed at improving aircraft readiness and reducing operational downtime across commercial and military aviation sectors.
The company has aligned its MRO offerings to support both in-shop and on-aircraft requirements, combining its Overhaul Support Services (OSS) with Mobile Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capabilities. This integrated approach is designed to deliver flexible, end-to-end inspection and maintenance solutions for operators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
TIGHITCO’s OSS division, based in East Granby, Connecticut, provides component repair and overhaul services for critical aircraft systems, supporting OEMs such as Sikorsky, Boeing, and Leonardo, along with maintenance providers including MTU.
Complementing these capabilities, TIGHITCO’s Mobile NDT team delivers on-site inspection services, including eddy current, ultrasonic, and fluorescent penetrant inspection. These services enable rapid response and help minimise downtime by bringing inspection capabilities directly to the aircraft.
Commenting on the development, Mark Withrow, CEO of TIGHITCO, said:
"Operators are increasingly focused on maintaining readiness while minimizing downtime. Our integrated MRO approach allows us to support those priorities by delivering responsive, high-quality solutions both in our facilities and in the field."
The company emphasised that its MRO model focuses on flexibility, responsiveness, and consistent execution across a broad range of fixed-wing and rotorcraft platforms.
Shawn Hawks, Vice President and General Manager of Complex Composites, added:
"Our ability to combine in-shop repair capabilities with on-aircraft inspection support provides customers with a more efficient and adaptable solution. This integrated approach allows us to respond quickly and support evolving operational needs."
The expanded capabilities highlight the growing role of integrated NDT and MRO services in supporting operational efficiency and reliability in the aerospace sector.
